Hirsutism Treatment

Facial hirsutism is when women grow excess hair on the face, often in areas like the chin, upper lip, or cheeks. It can also appear on the chest, lower stomach, or back. This condition affects around 5--10% women in Western societies according to the British Association of Dermatologists.

While it’s common, it can cause emotional distress, including low confidence and anxiety.

At PharmXtra, we offer clinically approved treatments to help manage and reduce unwanted facial hair. All options are available through a confidential online consultation with fast, discreet delivery.

What Is Hirsutism?

Hirsutism is a condition where excess hair grows in areas usually more common in men, such as the face, chest, or back. It affects women and is often linked to hormonal imbalances, especially higher levels of androgens like testosterone.

While not harmful, hirsutism can affect self-confidence and mental wellbeing.

Can Hirsutism Be Cured?

There’s no permanent cure for hirsutism, but it can be effectively managed with the right treatment. Options vary based on the underlying cause, severity, and your personal health needs.

With the support of a healthcare professional, many women achieve noticeable improvement.

Are There Natural Ways to Help?

Some natural lifestyle changes may help reduce symptoms:

  • Balanced diet rich in antioxidants

  • Maintaining a healthy weight

  • Reducing stress with relaxation methods like yoga or meditation

Always speak to your doctor before starting any new treatments, even natural ones.

What Treatments Are Available?

Hirsutism treatments aim to slow hair growth and balance hormone levels. Options include:

  • Oral medications like anti-androgens or the contraceptive pill

  • Topical creams (e.g. eflornithine) to slow facial hair growth

  • Hair removal procedures like laser therapy or electrolysis for long-term results

What Forms Do Treatments Come In?

Hirsutism treatments are available in several forms:

  • Tablets or pills to control hormone levels

  • Topical creams or gels to reduce visible hair

  • Professional hair removal treatments for more permanent effects

Your doctor will recommend the best option based on your symptoms and medical history.

Do You Need a Prescription?

Yes, many hirsutism treatments , including hormone-regulating medications, require a prescription.

At PharmXtra, you can complete a quick and confidential online consultation. A registered prescriber will review your symptoms and, if suitable, arrange discreet delivery of your treatment to your door.

The ordering was easy but DPD won’t leave your parcel at your nearest post office or shop of your Monday-Friday they tried to deliver mine on Friday but that meant I had to take a day off work and that’s no good for me and there wasn’t even leave in a safe place option which I understand that would be at my own risk but also can’t take a day off to receive a parcel if a post office is not a safe place where is Kind Regards Mrs Anderson .
