Testogel Pump - Key Information

  • Testogel contains testosterone, a hormone that naturally occurs in men.
  • It is a gel that is applied to the skin and absorbed into the body.
  • Testogel Pump is prescribed for men who produce little or no testosterone.
  • Testosterone is essential for sperm production, maintaining a healthy sex drive, achieving erections, and supporting muscle and bone health.
  • As testosterone levels decline with age, testosterone replacement therapy is sometimes prescribed for older men.
  • Testogel may also be prescribed for men with low testosterone levels due to other medical conditions.
  • For a full list of side effects and precautions, please read the patient information leaflet.

Testogel contains testosterone, which is absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. This increases testosterone levels in the body.

By mimicking naturally produced testosterone, Testogel supports sperm production, sex drive, erections and the growth of bones, muscles and blood cells.

It is essential to speak to a doctor before using Testogel Pump. They will assess whether it is suitable for you and if an alternative treatment may be more appropriate.

Usage

Testogel should only be applied by the person using it. Others should not handle it, as they may absorb testosterone through their skin.

Apply the gel once a day at the same time, spreading a thin layer on the shoulders, upper arms, or abdomen.

The gel does not need to be rubbed into the skin; simply allow it to absorb naturally. Wait around five minutes before dressing to ensure it has dried completely.

If you shower in the morning, apply Testogel after your skin has cooled and dried. If you shower later in the day, wait at least six hours after applying the gel.

Wash your hands after application. If you have close contact with others, including a partner, wash your hands beforehand and ensure the application site is covered or showered before skin-to-skin contact.

Do not apply Testogel to the genital area, as it may cause irritation.

Dosage

Testogel 16.2mg/g

There are two forms of Testogel:

  • Testogel Pump (a pump dispenser), typically taken at a dose of 40.5mg to 81mg per day.
  • Testogel which comes in a sachet is usually taken at a dose of 50mg to 100mg per day.

Your doctor will determine the correct dose based on how your body responds. Blood tests will be carried out to monitor your testosterone levels and adjust the dosage if necessary.
